THE EMPIRE IN CHARCOAL
This series presents a sky-high study of Manhattan, captured from Rockefeller Center, along with Midtown and Upper West Side street views, a timeless Central Park scene, and a Coney Island landscape.
Shot entirely on 35mm monochrome film, the series utilizes a vintage Zenit camera passed down through generations to anchor the modern skyline in a timeless aesthetic. Through subtle post-processing, the silver-halide prints are elevated into deep, textured tones that mirror the graphic quality of charcoal drawings.
